Glynde finish title-winning season with excellent win
Glynde concluded a superb season last Saturday, with another excellent win against Mayfield.
The home side batted first and they reached 219-9, with Jack Hockley 45 top scoring.
Will Burton Durham 3-30 was again Glynde's leading bowler, while Callum Smith 2-56 and the other 4 bowlers took a wicket apiece to wrap up the Mayfield innings.
Glynde rarely do things with ease and thats how it turned out to be again, as they collapsed to 159-7, with only Thakkier Davids 29 able to cope with the early bowling. Yet again Glynde's middle and late order batting rescued the situation, as Matt Blunt 38, Ollie Bailey 30 and Charlie Silvester 27, kept the score on the move, before an unbroken 9th wicket partnership of 46 between captain Archie Burrows 33 and Will Burton Durham 11 not out, saw Glynde to the winning line with 8 wickets and 2 overs left of the game.
Glynde now move on to Division 2 cricket in 2027 with high hopes.
