‘Stick with us’ – Crawley Town winger understands fans’ frustration after difficult start to league campaign

Dion Pereira urged Crawley Town supporters to ‘stick with us’ after a poor start to the 2026-27 League Two season.

The Reds sit fourth-from-bottom, with a record of one won, drawn one, lost three, after five league games.

Crawley striker Danilo Orsi said last weekend’s 3-2 defeat at Accrington Stanley was ‘on the players’ – and Antigua & Barbuda international winger Pereira admitted the Reds knew they needed to improve quickly.

He said: “I think every fan in the world wants their club to do well, but mainly so do the players. No player wants to be at a losing club, a club that's fighting relegation and stuff like that.

“We know within the walls of this club that we can do better and we will do better and that will change very quickly.

“The only thing I can ask is that the fans stick with us. It's early. We do show glimpses of good stuff, so when the results start to turn it gives them something to celebrate.

“I think as long as we get a bit better at both ends of the pitch, the results will start to improve. Obviously, that's us putting the ball in the back of the net and stopping the opposition from putting it in our net.

“I think there's glimpses of good things and things we still need to work on – but it's early and there's new players within the team.”
