Come along to the grand opening of the 1km path following the completion of the extension into the bottom field. Grab your trainers or your choice of wheels and try it for yourself. Free pizza, cakes and drinks. Hailsham Harriers will be running the course after the ribbon-cutting; all are welcome to join in, with treats for kids.

CHIDDINGLY PARISH BONFIRE SOCIETY

We've changed a few things about our Bonfire Night on November 21 - all to make it even more spectacular and welcoming to the community and beyond. We've added a Remembrance Address to start the evening in thoughtful tribute to absent friends and also brought forward the time of our activities. This means that the fireworks will be at 8.30 pm - hopefully a time better suited to families. Entry to our firesite at Pekes Manor will be FREE this year, although we welcome cash donations on the night and will have buckets available to receive them!  Road closures will be in force from 6.30pm and full details will follow. EAST SUSSEX ANIMAL RESCUE WRAS

Looking for an engaging talk for your community group, school, Guides or Scouts? Our talks are given by WRAS founder Trevor Weeks MBE, who draws on over 40 years of wildlife rescue experience to share fascinating stories and take you behind the scenes of East Sussex Wildlife Rescue & Ambulance Service. Discover the challenges of helping sick, injured and orphaned wildlife, and learn how you can make a difference. Choose from: The work of WRAS – an introduction to our charity, the animals we help and the situations our rescuers encounter. Hedgehog Awareness & Rescue – explore the lives of hedgehogs, the hazards they face and how to help them. Behind the scenes of wildlife rescue – a more detailed presentation covering how the service operates, wildlife first aid, rescue incidents, injuries and treatment. Longer sessions are ideal for college students studying animal care. We welcome enquiries from community groups, primary schools from Year 5 upwards, secondary schools, colleges, Guides, Scouts and more. Talk fees: Community groups with fewer than 50 people: £65. Community groups with 50 or more people: £75. Schools and colleges: £85. Extended college talks or lectures lasting 2–3 hours, or multiple talks: £150. Travel expenses: 55p per mile. Trevor is also happy to give talks further afield, with budget accommodation required where necessary, particularly for early starts or late finishes.
