Hastings school welcomes mayor for visit
Ark Little Ridge welcomed the Mayor of Hastings, Councillor Paula Warne to the school as part of Hastings Week celebrations.
Teacher, and former Hastings Mayor, James Bacon said: “During her visit, she enjoyed a tour of the school, spent time with our Year 3 pupils for an engaging Q&A session, and joined Key Stage 2 for a special Hastings Week assembly.
“The Mayor spoke about her role within the local community, answered a range of thoughtful and challenging questions from the children, and even invited some pupils to try on the official mayoral attire.
“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Mayor for taking the time to visit us and help celebrate Hastings Week. "To celebrate Hastings Week, I organised a whole-school poetry competition entitled Hastings – A Rich Tapestry. The competition provided pupils with a wonderful opportunity to showcase their creativity and writing talents through poetry inspired by our local area and its rich history. “A huge thank you to all the children who entered and shared their fantastic work. Congratulations to our joint winners, Ebony and Jessica (Year 4), and to our runner-up, Francesca (Year 3). We were incredibly impressed by the quality of entries and the enthusiasm shown by all participants.”
