Rescued pigeon recovering well
A pigeon that was rescued after being snared in bird netting at the Hastings Library building is on the road to recovery.
The pigeon was near to death when it was spotted hanging from one leg from the netting which surrounds a tower at the library at Trinity Triangle.

Local wildlife rescue group Wildlife Matters launched an appeal and crane company Coussens responded by supplying a giant crane that allowed rescuers to free the bird. The pigeon, which has been named Hattrick, was taken to the RSPCA centre at Mallydams Wood in Fairlight, thin and near to starvation. It was given water and eventually started to eat for itself and recover.
Sadly it was too late for a number of other pigeons who has become trapped and died.
East Sussex County Council, who run the library has said that the bird netting will be removed as a priority.
