Copthorne Chasers were proud to be one of the local running clubs supporting England Athletics and This Girl Can's Let's Lift the Curfew campaign last Wednesday, helping to raise awareness of the importance of women feeling safe and confident when exercising outdoors after dark.

The initiative encourages women to feel able to run, walk and enjoy being active without feeling restricted by concerns about their safety.

We were delighted to see so many people come along and join us for our special evening run, showing their support for a campaign that carries such an important message.

With the support of Greene King pubs, we met and finished at The Heathy Farm, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy a sociable run together before finishing with a well-deserved drink.

As a club, we believe that everyone should feel welcome and confident when taking part in outdoor exercise, whatever their ability or experience. Running with others can make a real difference, particularly during the darker evenings, and we hope the event encouraged more women to get involved and feel part of a supportive running community.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, The Heathy Farm and Greene King for their support, and everyone who helped spread the message.

Let's keep lifting the curfew and encouraging more women to get out, get active and enjoy running together!
