Sam Woodman is a senior editor for National World's West Sussex titles and the Sussex World website.
He began his career as a reporter covering Adur and Worthing almost 20 years ago, securing his first front-page story on his second day after a squirrel blew an electricity transformer. The ensuing power cut led to thousands of people missing the England cricket team being presented with the Ashes.
After winning awards for his reporting he went on to hold numerous roles across Sussex, including production editor, head of news, and deputy editor, which have seen him work across the county – in Worthing, Horsham, Chichester, Eastbourne and Hastings.
Sam currently leads the digital operation in Sussex and is editor of the Worthing Herald. He can be found on X – @samwoodman – and on Facebook.
